The plot for the game is set few events after God of War 1. The main protagonist here too is Kratos. Player in God of War 2 takes control of the Kratos who is the new God of War.

But Greeks don’t accept him as their new GOW because of his ruthless image. He enjoy pleasure in conquering cities of the Greece which people of Greece don’t like. But all dreams of Kratos end when Zeus kills him. But still Kratos is alive as he is saved by Gaia and looks to take revenge from Zeus, his father.

In God of War 2, there is combat between Gods and Kratos. There are other elements too.
